With more than 20 years in veterinary medicine, Jennifer has dedicated her career to caring for animals and supporting the teams who serve them. She holds a degree in Animal Science, is a licensed phlebotomist, a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, and a licensed wildlife rehabilitator — giving her rare insight into both the medical and business sides of care.

She's passionate about building strong teams, supporting pet owners, and making sure every patient receives compassionate, high-quality care. Outside the clinic, Jennifer enjoys time with her two boys and the great outdoors — hiking, hunting, fishing, and tending her plants.

Madelyn is one of Hometown Vet Animal Hospital's amazing veterinary assistants, and we're so excited for you to meet her! Originally from Swartz, Louisiana, she attended Ouachita Parish High School before graduating from Downsville Charter School. With years of experience in animal handling and care, she has worked closely with Dr. Holly Bethea at Monroe Animal Health Center and Melton Veterinary Hospital.

When she's not caring for your pets, you'll probably find her catching bugs and snakes, spending time with her two boys and her flock of chickens, or washing her big, beautiful — and very loud — truck. She has a healthy obsession with Randy Travis... and a slightly unhealthy obsession with one-eyed animals. Her one-eyed dog can often be found at the clinic bringing joy to the staff and clients.

Madelyn is known for her incredible work ethic, her willingness to take on any challenge, and her ability to make everyone laugh. She has a way of keeping our team grounded — even on the toughest days — and we're so grateful to have her as part of our family.

Meet Allison! We're so excited to welcome her to the Hometown Vet family. Originally from Farmerville, Allison graduated from D'Arbonne Woods Charter School and is currently studying Marketing at ULM. She also works as a veterinary assistant at Premier Pet Emergency, where Dr. Bethea had the pleasure to meet and work alongside her.

The best way to describe Allison? Sunshine-y. She's bright, bubbly, energetic, and an absolute joy to work with. Her positivity is contagious, and her genuine love for animals shines through in everything she does.

Outside the clinic, you'll find her playing the ukulele, singing, spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, or adventuring with her rescue dogs, Milky Way and Pluto (plus Pepper, the family dog that holds a special place in her heart). She has a soft spot for tripod pets and fun hats that are always in rotation.

Meet Bailey, one of Hometown Vet's wonderful Veterinary Assistants! Bailey is from Epps, Louisiana, and attended Delhi Charter School and Louisiana Tech University. She is happily married and absolutely adores her rescue blue pittie mix, Bean, and her family poodle, Max, who spends lots of time with her. When she isn't caring for patients, Bailey loves spending time with her husband, siblings, Bean, and Max. She also loves to crochet and has quite the green thumb — her impressive plant room (and ever-growing collection of propagations!) is proof!

Bailey has many years of experience in veterinary medicine, most recently at Melton Veterinary Hospital in Bastrop, where she and Dr. Holly Bethea worked closely together caring for dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes, and personalities.

One of the things we love most about Bailey is her special way with the shy, nervous, and fearful patients. She has a soft spot for the pets who need a little extra patience and reassurance and is always ready with soothing music, a gentle touch, and plenty of sweet words to help them feel safe during a stressful moment.

We are so happy to have Bailey as part of the Hometown Vet family, bringing her experience and compassion to our patients every day.

We're so excited to introduce Chelsey, the groomer behind Hometown Vet's brand-new grooming department! Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Chelsey has been working with pets since 2016, when she got her start in boarding and daycare. Her love for animal behavior led her to earn her positive reinforcement dog training certification in 2021, giving her a great foundation for understanding canine behavior and helping pets feel comfortable and confident during their visits. In 2025, she decided to take the leap into professional dog grooming — and we're so glad she did!

Chelsey is a rare groomer who especially loves grooming doodles and helping them look and feel their best. Her passion for kind, patient, low-stress handling ensures every pup receives thoughtful, individualized care.

When she isn't grooming, Chelsey loves going to concerts and comedy shows, spending time with her family and her Australian Cattle Dog, Tori, and hosting cookouts at home.
